To answer this question we need to know the following: How is light measured? You can determine the proper lighting for your area by using this formula: 30 watts x square feet. Example: You have an area of 10 square feet - 30 watts x 10 square feet = 300 watts / square feet minimum or 50 watts x 10 square feet = 500 watts / square feet.
