When you embark on a large outdoor lighting project, precision and the right structural design are paramount. You need high-efficiency industrial-grade LED lighting for wide-area applications, with appropriate regard for safety and clarity.
This is the account of how BTR Manufacturing Global-headquartered in Paul, Idaho-teamed up with Hyperlite to erect massive, sophisticated lighting systems for both a stadium and a neighboring sports court.
Client: BTR Manufacturing Global
Location: Paul, Idaho
Key Personnel: Nate Barclay (Co-Owner) & Jake Barclay
Objective: Replace outdated lighting systems in large outdoor sports court and adjacent lot areas with energy-efficient, high-mast LEDs.
Challenge: Unique Pole Arrangement
lighting sports fields, parks, and nearby parking requires thoughtful illumination layout. It needs to project light in sufficient quantities over a large area while also preventing blind spots and glare. For BTR Manufacturing, the scope demanded deployment of large quantities of high-performance lighting on a number of poles, each presenting its own load requirements.

Solution: Powerfully Efficient LEDs and Engineering Precision
Streamlined Installation
Mounting high-output stadium lights on 8 poles, each up to 25 meters tall, is no small task.
To avoid unnecessary costs due to surplus accessories, Hyperlite consults closely with clients like BTR to review their existing lighting setup. Because BTR already had power distribution boxes at the top of the poles, they were able to parallel link lamps via short cords-eliminating the need for extension cables and driver banding kits entirely.
Precision Alignment Using Laser Aiming Sights
To deliver comprehensive coverage across the entire sports court and lot, BTR deploys Hyperlite's Laser Aiming Sights. This feature enables their installation team to set the target alignment of every 600W fixture with laser accuracy prior to final attachment, mitigating night-time fixture adjustments and light spill onto neighboring properties.
Outcome: “Installed and operational”
All stadium lighting fixture and wall pack orders successfully arrived by June 2026, was offloaded with a forklift and professionally installed. Close collaboration between the BTR and VIP Account Manager Miffy helped the process to run smoothly. The visual evidence clearly shows the expertly lit sports court and property.
"They are installed. They didn't need any additional items to complete the install."

Project Q&A: Getting into the installation specifics
Q: Are there times when driver banding kits and extension cables may not be needed?
A: While we generally recommend driver banding kits and extension cables for lower pole installations and ease of maintenance-the heavy driver box on high-mast fixtures may not always need to be moved – they're not always critical. In BTR’s case, since a power distribution box was in place at the top of the poles, they could wire the lights in parallel without additional cables.
Q: What purpose does the laser pointing system serve?
A: Conventional lighting is difficult to place correctly in daytime. The laser pointing mechanism attaches to the fixture itself and produces a visible laser beam down toward the lighting destination point (the court or field). It allows installers to make preliminary placements of the bracket before tightening the fixture so all the points land in their projected location with little error.
Q: Can bulky high wattage lights be shipped to residences or commercial sites that do not have loading docks?
A: Of course. Hyperlite will arrange for shipment in bulk via well-established carriers such as R+L Carriers. Should you need lift-gate delivery service as there is no loading dock at the destination site we are able to make such arrangements. BTR found forklifts and on site capability so they did not need this service.
